SkyPoint Celebrates Gold Coast’s 60th birthday with a FREE Locals’ Day. Free? Why, that’s our favourite price!
On Saturday 13 July, SkyPoint is offering every Gold Coast resident FREE ENTRY to the Observation Deck. The SkyPoint Observation Deck is located on top of Australia’s tallest building.
On the 13th, if you are a local, you can enjoy the diamond sparkle of the glittering Gold Coast from the city’s highest vantage point!
SkyPoint opened in 2010, and is located at the top of the iconic Q1 building. As a resident you can soak up the city’s most thrilling view. It has iconic golden-sand beaches, lush hinterland and a glitter strip. This is all from 230 metres above sea level.
The Observation Deck features 360-degree views of the Gold Coast. It also has food! Nom nom. It is the highest dining experience in Australia with SkyPoint Bistro + Bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For those with a braver constitution, you can do the SkyPoint Climb. For an extra cost, it takes visitors even higher to 270 metres.
Dylan Hunt, General Manager SkyPoint said that the most iconic destination on the Gold Coast is taking the 60th birthday party to the sky. “This is the perfect day to remind Gold Coast locals about the incredible attractions they have right on their doorstep and to give them an even greater appreciation of just how stunning their hometown is from the coast to the hinterland.”
The State Government publicly declared that the previously named “South Coast” would be known as the “Gold Coast” in May 1959. This marked a new beginning for the nation’s fastest-growing city.
Now fondly recognised as Australia’s playground, the Gold Coast is Australia’s sixth largest city. It is home to almost 700,000 people. It has attracted people from across the world for six decades with its famed beaches, surf, theme parks, shopping, nightlife and hinterland.
