Australian Open Bowls

1–14 June 2019, Broadbeach Bowls Club

After moving to the sunny Gold Coast in 2015, the Australian Open has become a true festival of bowls, with 14 days of action played across the 15 host clubs on the Gold Coast. Over 2,000 bowlers from across Australia and the world are expected to attend again, with entry being completely open to any registered bowler! Not only is the Australian Open the World’s Biggest Bowls Festival, it is also the richest bowls event in the world with a staggering total of over $250,000 prize money across more than 780 prize money placings in the 13 disciplines.

Queensland Ballet – Dangerous Liaisons

This is one of those cultural events not to be missed. Queensland Ballet has teamed up with Artistic Associate and world-renowned choreographer, Liam Scarlett, to present Dangerous Liaisons, an evocative performance and classic tale of seduction and betrayal. The scandalous story, which has captivated audiences around the world for over 200 years, is based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ time honoured novel and has been reimagined into a dramatic new ballet for mature audiences.
